Shafting
With complete state-of-the-art CNC machining capabilities Custom Propulsion Systems can produce fully machined shafts up to 6-1/2" in diameter and over 30 feet in length. The materials that we work with on a regular basis include Aquamet 17, 19, 22, and 22 high strength. If you have a specific material requirement let us know and we can help. We can furnish flange and jam nuts to over 10” in diameter in either standard SAE or metric dimensions. To complete the shaft a full line of bronze flange and jam nuts are available. Many are in stock and ready for immediate shipment. Flange and jam nuts are available in sizes up to 10" in diameter. Custom designed nuts are also available.

Couplings
Custom Propulsion Systems also produces fully machined couplings for driveline applications. Couplings can be made from solid stainless steel, mild steel, or can be cast in our foundry from manganese bronze or nickel aluminum bronze (NiBrAl).

Rudders and Tiller Arms
We have patterns for many rudders and tiller arms. Even some hard to find rudders and tiller arms may still be available. We do make blackfin rudders. In many cases if a pattern does not exist we can either design and build a new pattern or use the old part (with some modifications) as the pattern. Once the part is cast our skilled machinist will machine the casting to the original specifications. All you have to do is reinstall the new part on your boat.

Rudder Housing
We have patterns for many transom mounted and inboard style rudder housings. Even some hard to find housings may still be available. In some cases if a pattern does not exist we can either design and build a new pattern or use the old part (with some modifications) as the pattern. Once the part is cast our skilled machinist will machine the casting to the original specifications. All you have to do is reinstall the new part on your boat.

Struts
We have patterns for many single leg and V-style struts. Even some hard to find struts may still be available. In most cases if a pattern does not exist we can either design and build a new pattern or use the old part (with some modifications) as the pattern. Once the part is cast our skilled machinist will machine the casting to the original specifications. We can also install a new bearing if needed.

Custom Castings
Along with many standard marine parts we also provide custom castings and machining services. Furnish us with drawings, completed patterns, or the part itself and we will do the rest.
